About Us

Practical Candles is a shop that specializes in handmade candles for spiritual lifestyles. We are known for our double action, ritual color, and intention-focused collections. Our shop and craft is secular - we do not recognize any higher power or religious rule. It is our pleasure to keep things real and practical - to serve our customers with what they need in a world of metaphysics and wonder.

We've been working at our craft since 2015, evolving our candle craft doing business as; Rooted Gifts, Calloway's Candles, Five Corners Co, and now indefinitely- we are doing business as Practical Candles. On Etsy alone, we've had the pleasure of fulfilling over 7.3k sales, and are forever grateful for 5-star reviews left by over 2.3k customers. In 2021 we (as Five Corners Co) appeared in The State Journal, which has been named "the commonwealth's best midsize daily newspaper by the Kentucky Press Association."

Every hand crafted item is made in the hearth of the home, every day, all day long. It started out with the idea that practical variety is in need for spiritual candles, and with that being the starting point, we craft a large assortment of colors, sizes, and shapes with the intention in mind that there is a suitable something for everyone and any need.

All of our products are made at-home, by partners Jonathan & Sam, by hand. We aim to offer products that are quality-evident and address relevance in the day-to-day lifestyle of those who seek curiosity and wonder in their lives. Our non-candle selections are still handmade or curated from sources who we have grown to trust.

As of 2024, all products are handcrafted in Frankfort, Kentucky. We offer 1-day processing times, and will ship out every morning except for Sundays. All items sold on Etsy are sold as "curious" and cannot be guaranteed.
